Overview
Koreno village is located on a hill between Horjul and Polhov Gradec. It used to be a popular hiking point for the people of Ljubljana. You can climb it by a shorter route from Horjul, or by a longer route from Polhov Gradec, which takes about 4 hours of walking (in both directions) with the children.
The starting point of the hike is at the bus station in Polhov Gradec, where you will also notice the first hiking signposts. From here, head to the Mala Voda valley. Markings lead you from the main road to the left onto a macadam path, where you cross the river Božna and you are already in the yard of the farm and mill Plenk. The ascent begins behind the house. The path leads you through the forest to the hamlet of Škofije, along forest cart tracks and meadows across Visoki vrh and along the road to the village of Koreno. At the highest point you will find the church of Sv. Mohor and Fortunato from the end of the 15th century. The view is amazing!

Mohorja in Fortunata s konca 15. stoletja. Razgled je prečudovit!
