
As we said in previous blog post Protect your kids online using Windows Family (part 2) there are few simple steps you need to do to start using Microsoft Family.
Few simple steps to get them protected. Step we’ll talk about in this blog is highlighted.

In this blog we will focus on creating Microsoft Account for our kids (if you don’t have one yet). Having an Microsoft account for parents and kids is the prerequisite that you need to have. There is a lot of ways we’ll create account. In this post we’ll describe two of them (create account from within Microsoft Family, create account using Account Microsoft.com). So let’s start with creating Microsoft account for kids.
- In your favorite browser open https://account.microsoft.com/, and click Sign In.

- Enter parent username, created in previous post and click Next.

- Type in your password (to keep your passwords safe, use RoboForm) and click Next.

- Click on link Family.

- Click link Create a family group.

- To create kid account select Member and click Create one for them link.

- Type in your kid user name and click Next.

- Type in password for your kid account (to keep your passwords safe, use RoboForm). Click Next.

- Type in name and surname and click Next.

- Select your kid date of birth. Microsoft Family will be able to apply appropriate security measures if you entered correct date. Click Next.

- Type in captcha, to prove you are a human and click Next.

- Sign legal stuff and click “Yes, I agree”.

- Click Continue. We’ll set up restrictions later.

- Click on “Yes, continue”.

- Review settings and click Done.

- You have successfully created user account for your kid. Kid will now be able to use this account to sign in to multiple devices.

Second way to create kids accounts is by using account.microsoft.com.
- In your favorite browser open https://account.microsoft.com/ and click on “Create a Microsoft account”.

- Type in your kids username and select suffix name. Click Next.

- Type in password for your kid account (to keep your passwords safe, use RoboForm). Click Next.

- Select your kid date of birth. Microsoft Family will be able to apply appropriate security measures if you entered correct date. Click Next.

- Type in captcha, to prove you are a human and click Next.

- Since Microsoft Family noticed you created account for a kid (based on the date of birth), you need to confirm account creation by authenticating as a parent. Click “My parent can sign in now” to procced with account creation.

- Click “Sign in” to procced with account creation.

- Type in username of a parent and click Next.

- Type in password for your parent account (to keep your passwords safe, use RoboForm). Click Next.

- Read legal stuff and click “Yes, I agree”.

- Click Continue. We’ll set up restrictions later.

- Click on “Yes, continue”.

- Review settings and click Done.

- You have successfully created user account for your second kid. Kid will now be able to use this account to sign in to multiple devices.
