Is your wood fence getting old and don’t know what to do with panels? Well, we might have a solution for you.
#1 Draw a sketch
Draw a sketch of your bird house before you start cutting the panels. It will be easier to define shapes and sizes of needed parts. Don’t worry you don’t have to be professional artist.
#2 Collect your panels
Make a selection of wood panels and take out the nails.
#3 Use a saw
Cut the panels according to you sketch. It is very convenient if you have angle saw, especially for side parts.
#4 Drill the holes
Mark the holes before drilling. Put a piece of wood into workbench to support the piece throughout the drilling.
#5 Drill a window
Before mounting pieces together drill a big hole (window) in one of the side parts.
#6 Tighten the screws
It’s time to mount your bird house. Tighten the screws. Nails hold sides, bottom, back, ledge, and roof.
#7 Home sweet home
Nobody likes leaky roofs. Put silicon putty where the roof parts stick. Use your favorite acrylic colors and paint it as you like. When the paint dries paint it with outdoor varnish.
